Why the summer months are the perfect opportunity to regain your focus and adjust your goals.

Summer solstice is upon us, and with the longest day of the year comes the start of all of those sweet summertime temptations urging us to get away from the office. It’s a tricky time of year for entrepreneurs. With complete control over our workdays, it’s up to us to choose how to spend our days, and whether to skip out on an afternoon of work to head to the beach.

Summer is the perfect opportunity to slow down and refocus your mindset on your goals and what’s necessary to achieving your root success.

Learning to Let Go

If summer tends to be a slower period in your business, then take advantage of that extra time to recharge your battery. You’ve worked hard to build a stable business, and it’s not going to fall apart because you step away for a few days.

After all, a successful business is not just about making money. It’s about discovering a balance in work and life, and having the freedom to choose the way you spend your days.

Here are some productive ways to spend your slower summer days:

  1. Review your goals and assess your progress. We’re heading into the second half of the year – how far have you come in reaching your goals?
  1. Adjust your goals as needed, and put a new plan in place. A lot can happen in a year, meaning our goals will often ebb and flow along with our own life paths. Take some time to modify your goals as needed, and outline the steps you need to take to achieve them.
  2. Refocus on the bigger picture. Sometimes we get so caught up in the day-to-day tasks of running a business, we forget to look at the big picture. Take some time to celebrate how far you have come, and recognize all you have to be grateful for.

If you need an extra boost to help you refocus and strategize, give the Rich Life & Business Bundle a try. It includes a free, simple Goal Setting Template, as well as instructional audio training to guide you through the process. I created this resource to help gain clarity on what kind of success you want, and develop actionable steps to get you there, if you have done that and want more then you want the Freedom to Focus – 7 Steps to a clear mind

Now, before you pack your bags and head to the beach, leave a comment below letting me know how you manage to let go and unplug during summer months. Or take it one step further, and share a few key summer goals with us! I’d love to hear from you.
