Last week, we had an awe-inspiring episode with Kelly Roach, who shared her wisdom with us. She talked about how taking action, even if it’s not perfect, is a key to success. This idea is very important because it reminds us that we don’t have to wait for everything to be perfect before we start something new. Sometimes, just starting is the most important step.
Kelly’s story is inspiring. She helps entrepreneurs all over the world and has so much wisdom to share. Her tip about taking action, even when things aren’t perfect, can help us all in our daily lives. It shows that making progress is often more important than doing everything perfectly.
Today, I’m diving back into this topic from our recent podcast episode: wisdom.
Exploring Wisdom with Vitality Knocks
First, I want to tell you a little more about my book, Vitality Knocks. This book is very special because it teaches us about life’s important lessons. The main character, Vitality, learns these lessons through her experiences, but she doesn’t always pay attention to them at first. Each chapter shows her sitting in a comfy chair, reflecting on her past and the lessons she could have learned.
When I wrote this book, I incorporated all my training here. It’s meant to be read one chapter at a time before bed each night. This way, you can think deeply about each lesson. I even tie in special words to help you have dreams about the lessons and remember to write down your thoughts. This can help you remember and understand the lessons better. Keep a journal and pen by your bed to jot down any ideas that come to you during the night. In fact, you can get a copy of our journal right here.
Key Lesson: Wisdom
One of the big lessons in the book is about wisdom. Vitality learns that wisdom comes from understanding your life experiences and taking time to listen to those “knocks” or lessons life gives you. Wisdom isn’t just about getting older; it’s about paying attention to what happens in your life and learning from it.
Vitality has an interesting life story. As a child, she traveled to Italy and saw how different everything was. This helped her understand that the world is much bigger than her hometown. She noticed that people in Italy spoke a different language, wore different clothes, and had different customs. These experiences opened her eyes to the diversity of the world.
When Vitality met a boy in Italy, they had many great conversations and even though they spoke different languages, they still found ways to understand each other. They talked about their dreams and ideas, which helped Vitality see things in a new way. These experiences helped her gain wisdom and realize that there is always more to learn.
This book shows that no matter how old you are, you can always learn and grow. Reading a chapter each night helps you reflect on your life and understand the lessons you’ve learned. It’s a way to gain wisdom and use it to move forward. By reading, reflecting, and writing down your thoughts, you open yourself up to new ideas and self-discovery. Taking action helps you move forward and learn more about yourself and the world around you.
For example, think about a time when you learned something new. Maybe you learned a new skill or understood something better after making a mistake. These moments are like the “knocks” in Vitality’s story. By paying attention to these moments, you can learn valuable lessons and gain more wisdom.
5 Steps to Gain Wisdom
- Read and Reflect: Take time to read books like Vitality Knocks that offer important life lessons. Reflect on what you’ve read and think about how it applies to your life.
- Write Down Your Thoughts: Keep a journal by your bed. Write down any insights or ideas that come to you, especially after reading a chapter at night. This helps you remember and understand the lessons better.
- Take Imperfect Action: Don’t wait for everything to be perfect. Start taking steps towards your goals, even if they aren’t perfect. You’ll learn and grow along the way.
- Learn from Experiences: Pay attention to what happens in your life. Every experience, good or bad, can teach you something. Listen to those “knocks” and use them to gain wisdom. I used my own experience and wisdom here to transition to a successful entrepreneur.
- Share with Others: Talk about what you’ve learned with friends and family. Sharing your experiences and insights can help others learn too.
Wisdom is all around us, and by taking time to reflect on our experiences, we can all grow wiser.
