I’ve had an entrepreneurial drive since a young age.

When I was eight, I used to collect tadpoles from the local river near my home. I put them into a bucket filled with water and went door-to-door in my neighbourhood, selling them for 5 cents each.

I even followed up on my sales, checking in on my customers to see if their tadpoles transformed into frogs.

When I was about 17, I started my own flower business. I remember waking up in the middle of the night to work on my business plan.

I was passionate about entrepreneurial success from the start, but it took me a while to overcome the fear of turning it into a viable career path. I couldn’t get past the insecurity of the inconsistent income stream.

Fear was controlling my future.

The fact is: we’re born to win, but we’re conditioned to fail.

We have to learn to train our brains with the auto responder mindset for success. It’s about becoming aware of the limiting beliefs you have, learning from life lessons, and becoming more attune to how fear is influencing your decision-making.

Here are three steps to building an auto responder mindset for business success:

  1. Be mindful. In order to become aware of our limitations, we have to be mindful of our reactions to situations. We have to be able to recognize the negative mindset as we’re experiencing it, and understand what the triggers are.
  1. Write it down. Keep a journal with you – carry it in your purse or briefcase – and write down every situation where you experience a negative mindset, and take note of the triggers. Do it immediately, before you forget and move on.
  1. Review. At the end of the day, look back at where you were and what was going on. Take some time to reflect on the emotions you were experiencing, and where they came from. By taking time to review and apply lessons learned, you are programming your subconscious mind as an auto responder for success. This is how you train your brain.
